In our hearts.

Just a little diary of our visits though the years until we can afford to beat this distance.

4th - 8th April

It had been a while since we had seen each other and a lot happened in our personal lives, but one of the biggest things that has happened is Levi getting a job. We had no idea how this was going to affect us as she would be working and despite having extra money she also had a new horse to care for. I'm unsure if I have mentioned before, but Levi has horses.

4th April, Friday

Friday was basically spent travelling. So there was all the fun of changing trains with a bit of a headache, but the excitement of seeing her again kept the worst of it at bay. When I saw her, everything felt alright again and I could smile.

5th April, Saturday

I didn't see her all day as she was at work but it was okay because I went shopping with her mum, had a coffee and a chat about things and then was there for Levi when she was done at work.

After we picked her up from work, we headed to the stables and I saw her new horse. She (the horse) was beautiful. Very much like one I used to ride when I was younger.

After sorting out the food, a little training and brushing the horses we headed home for food and snuggles.

6th April, Sunday

As the Monday was Levi's little sister birthday, it was time for a family meal. A lot of family turned up that i hadn't met before and it was an experience. I had never known children so loud. After a few minutes waiting for the family to arrive we headed to a pub for lunch. Unfortunately with the size of the party (13 - unlucky for some) we couldn't get in at the original place, so ended up going to Frankie and Bennies which was only next door.

Levi took me to Frankie and Bennies a while ago and I loved it so I couldn't wait for more and it didn't disappoint. I love food. We both love food.

After eating we went to the horses again to show Levi's nan's her new horse. They loved them, and was surprised how timid they were.

7th April, Monday

We were awoken at 7:30am by a very excited eight year old shouting at us that it was her birthday and we had to get up so she could open her presents. Very reluctantly we got up and dragged ourselves in Levi's mum's room only to be greeted by Levi's sister surrounded by gifts. It was so sweet.

As it was so early we struggled to stay awake and napped for an hour or so hoping that the rain would ease so we could go out. I was tired yet giddy with excitement because Levi had planned a surprise for me, and I'm normally the one who plans surprises. Unfortunately when we woke up the rain was still coming down and hammering on the windows so we couldn't go to the one place. However, we went into the town near Levi's and went for Nando's then shopped.

Well I shopped and spoilt Levi. I brought her a lovely dress which she has said she is going to wear for Pride in Birmingham next month and some nail varnish. With buying myself things as well my bank balance was sad. Just looking at it made me feel sick, I cannot believe how much I spent that day.

Finally the spending ended with a trip to Costa (anyone that knows me knows I cannot stand Costa, but as near Levi there isn't a Starbucks a Costa had to do the job.)

We ended the day snuggled up watching Frozen which was amazing.

8th April, Tuesday

Normally the day I go home is full of tears and snuggles but today was surprise day. HIPHIPHOORAY!!

She wouldn't tell me anything about the surprise, only that we had to get a train and change somewhere. I watched through the window as we passed every station we had got off previously, and Levi said that she hadn't been this far out on the train before - only buses. We arrived at our change station and had to buy our tickets as Levi's home station doesn't have a ticket booth thing. This was when I found out the town we were heading to. It rang a bell for something, but I wasn't sure why.

As we waited for our change train, it was chilly so I brought us the scrummiest hot chocolate. It had cream, crushed Oreo and marshmallows on. It ended up huge, I carefully drank mine trying not to get a cream moustache but Levi had to eat her cream ect with a spoon and then continued to use the spoon to drink her hot chocolate.

After a very short train journey we arrived at the town, walked up a huge hill which seemed to last forever and used my phone as a sat nav. Levi felt like we were going the wrong way so we had to get good ol' Google maps out. As we walked up the hill I spotted a sign post, it had a logo I recognised and made me hope we were going there.

As we got closer the signposts became more frequent and I began to get excited. We turned into some gates and yes! We were going to the signposted place. It was a decent trek through the grounds to the house and dedicated gardens but Levi had taken me to a National Trust house and gardens. It was so beautiful and well worth the walk, she really does know what I like so well.

*Hums he knows me so well tune*

After a few hours spent at the place we had to get the train back to hers. That was when it began to hit us both, I had to go home and I didn't want to go. We potentially had 50 days before seeing each other at Birmingham Pride, but we both knew that we couldn't do that. It was going to be too hard. I have no idea how couples like Kaelyn and Lucy spend nearly half the year apart.

After sitting in her room, cuddling and teary eyed we spoke about spending a weekend together  early may. So now we need to see when we can do that and make it plausible.

19th February: Delayed Valentines & Wicked!

As we woke up, I was panicking. Panicking that we wouldn't be able to make the showing of Wicked that day, as I hadn't managed to keep the surprise and now she was looking forward to it.

Oh, I had been at Levi's house for four days before this day but there were very standard days - waking up, sorting out the horses in the stables, entertaining the kids, eating and then back to bed. To be honest these days were just as good because we were together. I say were because I'm writing this as I'm on my train home. How I wish I could be travelling back to hers rather than back home. Oops, I forgot something! On the Sunday we went to Maidstone (her nearest town) because she had to go to Specsavers for lenses, but they ordered the wrong ones. Stupid Specsavers! As we waited around for them to tell us they'd fucked, we had food! Food is a big thing for us, we love food!

Anyway back to Febuary, 19th, we rushed around knowing we had to get the 0928 train to London Victoria and us being us we hate getting up early. When we got into London - yes, we made the train - we went to McDonalds. We made the infamous Maccies breakfast! Levi went first, she wanted a bacon and egg McMuffin - she ended up with a sausage and egg as we got there two mins before they changed the menus - I wanted that! Then when I wanted what she had just been given, I got given a double sausage and egg McMuffin because she'd just had the last single sausage one.

Now to Wicked. I queued. I got to the till. No more day tickets. Sad face. Go outside. Complain. Realise we could've got other tickets. Went back (I'd only waked around the corner). Got tickets - and for only £10 more. Yay, we were going to see Wicked!

But first...

Both of us wanted the loo as well as a drink, so because of having a few hours to spare we journeyed to Oxford Circus. After a Starbucks, we ended up in Hamleys. We love Hamley's.

After playing with the toys, we knew that we wouldn't have time to do a walk down Southbank after the show as we planned to go to Chipotle and She bar. But before catching the tube to Waterloo, we HAD to go to Hummingbird Bakery.

So now with our cupcakes in hand it was off to off to Waterloo!

Levi had her camera on her so she was incredibly camera happy, and we got photo-bombed by a seagull.

Before we headed back, we spotted a garden with a cute water fountain, only to discover that it was the St Thomas Hospital garden, so we also got a photo there.

And then found our own lock bridge in London.

But then it was more rushing because we hadn't realised how we had let the time get away from us, so back to wicked!

For some reason I had thought that. It should've taken us longer to get back to Victoria, but we had half an hour to kill before going in to the theatre when we had arrived back to Victoria station. Which could only mean one thing, to the pub! Yes we eat and drink a lot! But we like food and drink!

Eventually we made it to our seats in the theatre after queuing outside and buying a program each! Actually I'm now reminded that I have something for Levi in my bag that I meant to give her, oh well she will have to wait!

After the show we were in awe, Williemijn Verkaik's voice was amazing! It was so powerful and emotional, we have both listened to the soundtrack maaaaaany times but nothing can explain her voice. We were both in tears at many points, but defying gravity... Woah!

Now off to Chipotle!

Mmmmmm..... More food! Burrito!

At this point my phone died so trying to explain to a friend where we were was amusing, considering she lives in London she has no idea where anywhere is. About half an hour after we arrived there, she found us, which meant onwards to She!

I had a rough idea where it was, but it was hidden so well that it took 10-15minutes to actually find it. Eventually, we found it and it was so chic and sexy - the bar staff were gorgeous too! All three of us noticed!

After a drink, a catch up and walking the wrong way to the station, we made our way home.

The day way perfect.

LDR question challenge.

I found this on Instagram a few days ago and each answer should be written on a separate day but I'm impatient so I'm going to write then all in one post today.

Our names: Kim & Levi
Our date: 19/12/12
Our song: We actually have a playlist of songs but the one that means most to us is; your song by Elton John
Our favourite picture: This one is hard because we have so many but possibly one of the first because it's a special moment to us.
This was a photo from our first date. Chipotle.

Future plans: at the moment our plans are to move in together by the end of next year and get married. Levi wants children but I'm still really unsure about that and would much rather have loads of pets.

First meeting: Our first meeting was on the 26th Jan 2013 in London.

Distance apart: 177 miles.

Joint couple name: I really don't think we have one. We have 'pet names' that we sort of came up with within the first few months which are Jellyfish and Koala.

Website: We have a joint tumblr, the URL derives from our 'pet names' and it's koallyfish1912.tumblr.com as well as twitters: @herfemmegirl and @hersappho.

What you love about them: this is really hard to keep to a few lines because there is so much, the things that jump to mind though for a short summary are; she's like my best friend, lover and so much more rolled into one, she's never judges me - I can honestly tell her anything, she's so easy to trust, she's the only one that can deal with my moods and not freak out and most importantly she loves me for who I am.

The rainbow is full of love, however reality has grey areas.

Until recently I had not realised how "grey" society is due to hatred. Don't get me wrong I have experienced hate due to my sexuality as well as many other things in my life. It took me a while to believe that hate did not reflect who I am but who the people are spreading the hate. However some individuals never reach that, and the hate touches them personally.

I have always been an advocate of talking things through and trying to subvert the stereotype. Whether that's to do with what a woman is "supposed to be", what a lesbian is, or what certain conditions are.

There are so many malicious individuals online, I would call them people - but some go beyond what a human is, some are just so full of hatred that they have been drained of all humanity. The hate that these people are mindlessly throwing on to the internet could do more than they realise. To take homophobia as an example because that's one of the things that riles me the most, and one thing I have been speaking out about a lot today on many social networking sites. Not only do people hide behind religion for their hatred, but justify it by using their god and religious text.

These individual's state that the homosexual life is "wrong" and "chosen", however by using some of their justifications it proves that they are blinded by hate and their lives are grey because of this. Allow me to demonstrate my point with pictures:

However they do not realise that they probably pass more than one gay person on the street daily, as statistics state that 1-in-10 people are gay or have gay tendencies (gay, lesbian or bisexual), and these words of hate could lead to personal harm or worse.

I am not going to lie or hide that certain things have really touched me in my personal life. I let words beat me down several times, but I will not get into this right now. Maybe at some point I will post my story, but right now this is not the time.

My main reason behind this post is just to have a bit of a rant and provide some sort of support if anyone has been affected by such hate.

Christmas : 13th - 21st Dec

As the title suggest this was our Christmas together, we are only apart for a week over Christmas then we get New Years together but here is one half of our December.

On the Friday I picked her up, I had college so it wasn't a day where we could do a lot because of the lateness when we got home so it was another night in with fajitas for us :) we love fajitas! (There is a lesbian joke in there but I will let you work that out for yourselves :))

14th December, Saturday

This is where the fun properly started. I had seen on Facebook that the Mailbox in Birmingham was showing films for free so obviously we had to go and see one. Plus with watching the film we got mulled wine and mince pies for free, who can turn down freebies?

The movie was Love Actually, and I honestly had never felt so happy or laughable whilst watching that film. Maybe it was because it was in a sort of outside cinema or maybe it was because I was with my girl, but either way it was amazing!

From Love Actually, we went to Sinderfella. Sinderfella is a touring adult panto, that toured London, Birmingham and Manchester. We had planned to go on the 16th for my birthday but it wasn't running on that date plus as we had time to kill it was easiest to go that day. Unfortunely when we went at 4pm for the matinee there was about three people and the atmosphere wouldn't have really been there so the director asked us if we could come back later. Of course we didn't mind, it meant we could get food so that meant.... On ward to the loft lounge!

Then after lots of thinking and talking we headed back to Sinderfella... Which turned out to be well and truly amazing. From the moment we walked in, we were giggling and welcomed. Whether that was because of the drunken women who were sitting next to us or not we had an amazing time. The cast were amazing, both dealing with the raucous crowd and entertaining the ones who were enjoying the performance.

The only problem we had after seeing the show was getting home.

Then when we finally got home the fun started, as if my mind hadn't have been going crazy whilst we were out it went into overdrive when we got in.

Keep your minds out of the gutter for the next bit...

We sat on the bed.
I began to shake.
I asked her to get my bag from the other side of the room.
She went to get it for me.
I kissed her then blindfolded her.
After speaking some words to her I kissed her again.
I held her hand, and placed a box in her hand.
Took the blindfold off and didn't let her look down.
Kissed her again and asked her to marry me.

As I asked her, suspicious minds came on strictly, excuse me whilst I remember the smallest detail...

But she said yes.

15th December, Sunday

On Sunday we didn't do anything, it was more of a family day.

16th December, Monday

MY BIRTHDAY!!!

As it was my birthday this meant we were heading out to get freebies, after I had opened my gifts. First stop for us was Starbucks - as usual! As we were walking through my hometown someone was giving out free chocolate, so that was my first freebie of my birthday. After a Stabucks and free chocolate bar,  we headed to Birmingham for freebies! Yay to free things. It started with a Krispy Kreme and then a Ed's easy diner milkshake. As well as the free things, we went shopping in the Bullring and on the German market!

19th December, Thursday

This was Thursday was a very important Thursday for us. It was our year anniversary and I took the next few days off college to spend with her. I had planned a day at a spa as well as a meal for us to celebrate!

We got up, I opened my gifts and then we hit the shower before going to Moor Hall in Sutton.

Now I'm going to hand over the rest of this day to my fiancé, as I want her to tell you exactly what she thought of everything.

We set off in the car and I was still oblivious as to where I was being taken, I sat looking out of the window for clues and road signs but I had no idea until we pulled up outside a lovely old looking building and read the sign above the entrance the I clicked on, and the excitement and nerves kicked in! I'd never been on a spa day or been a guest in this type of place I'd only ever worked in them so being on the other side of the tables was is strange but felt great. We checked in and were taken to the bar where we were given complimentary tea before we were given a little tour of the spa and shown where all our facilities were.

We headed to the pool for a relaxing swim, I couldn't stop smiling at the fact I'd been brought somewhere so lovely and spoilt, I knew the rest of the day was going to be amazing.
After a while in the pool we dried off and went to sit in the 'quiet room' before we had our treatments, it was a beautiful little room, relaxing colours and atmosphere.
We were taken for our treatments, I had been treated to an amazing back massage that made me feel amazing! I've always wanted to have a proper massage at a spa so this was so exciting I still couldn't stop smiling and thinking how lucky I was to be with someone so amazing who spoils me rotten like this.
After the massage we went back down to the bar and had a drink before we went for our meal.
Our meal was lovely, we had range of little starters, Kim had a lovely looking potato and leek soup, this was followed by a lovely carvery that very nearly filled us to the brim but we forced room for desert, I had a slice of lemon cake, safe to say there really wasn't as much room as I thought left, Kim had a tasty looking slice of chocolate fudge cake, she also was more full than she realised but we both enjoyed the meal and went away feeling like 2 stuffed pumpkins!

We headed home both smiling after what was an amazing day, the best anniversary gift I could've imagined, I really don't know how I'm going to top this one!! It was truly amazing.

And now back to me....

I knew what I had planned so I had high expectations, but this surely surpassed them!

20th December, Friday

Due to the spa day before I had to make sure that the plans for today were for today and no earlier. So today I booked us both in for a tattoo, then as we were in for most we didn't do much for the rest of the day.

26th Oct - 7th Nov

So after I travelled down to see my girl this time, as she'd come to mine the time before (undocumented, as she was supposed to do it) it was a late start for me, but it was the first time I was going to her house.... Last time I went to her place when she was working, but she's moved home now.

26th Oct, Saturday

We were supposed to go to a fireworks display that night, but the weather was too bad for it to go ahead. This meant we had a night relaxing at hers. This happened for the Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday with popping to the stables interspersed between because of the horrendous weather.

30th Oct, Wednesday

This was the day that we had planned to go to London, so we were up early and ready. As we had spoken about where we wanted to go, my girl being the huge planner that she is decided to make a list and with the tube stations and destinations. This came in handy a few times, but by looking at it once or twice we knew roughly where to go.

With the help on google maps we managed to find Primrose Hill which was our first destination.

After going to Primrose Hill, which we went to because of our favourite LGBT film - Imagine Me and You. The park was beautiful, and as we turned up it got so much warmer, as we left my girl saw these signs and got so excited....

I'm actually surprised that she didn't take pictures of the enclosures that we could see without going in.

From Primrose Hill to Camden Town. Both if us had always wanted to go and I had never been before so this was the perfect moment, as it was literally a ten minute walk from where we were.

From Camden it was to...
HARRODS!!

It was our first time there and we were both in awe of the scale and grandness of it. Levi even look pictures of the lift floor. Even though she was highly amused by the pooches and animal things, I was in heaven on the technology floor - especially when it came to the cameras (it was like porn for a media student, I've even picked out my dream camera.)

From HARRODS we went to Candy Bar, which because it was 4pm was shut so decided to head to Hummingbird Bakery. This was partly because I had promised her brother and sister a cupcake and because it had been about a year since I had been and they do my favourite cupcakes. If you ever go to London, I highly recommend it! I normally go to the one in Soho because it's near to Candy and a lot of places I love but there are other locations.

From there we started to walk down Shaftsbury Avenue, and to anyone that knows anything about west end theatre they will know that that's what I like to call "the hub" for most shows. As we were walking we spotted some oddly dress people talking to people outside what seemed to be a stage door. We kept walking thinking nothing of it, until we saw the front of the theatre. Guess what the production was?

.
.
.
.
.

Yes, it was Les Miserables!
Cue us fangirling as a few of you may know on our first date we went to the cinema and watched Les Miserables, so this is sort of our thing. Les Miserables is our movie and the songs mean so much to us.

We asked for photos but they had to go back in and weren't allowed to take photos at the stage door until after the show and they were only on the intermission.

Keep on walking down Shaftsbury Avenue and you will see Thriller and the Lotus shop.

Then we ended up walking to Leicster square, as we were due to meet our friends for tea at Planet Hollywood, but we were early so we had a walk around M&M world.

By the time we got to Planet Hollywood we would have had to wait an hour at least for a table so we ended up in China town and had a Chinese buffet. At the buffet Levi tried to eat with chopsticks but failed. It was pretty funny trying to watch her, I know I can't do it so I didn't even try.

After eating, we realised we wouldn't get to the train in time so ended up going to Embankment. It's sort of a tradition for us now!

Then that was the end of London.

31st October, Thursday.

HALLOWEEN!

We ended up going out on Thursday, just to a local town for some shopping... But we ended up in Lush again! We love lush, and lush loves us.... After all we always spend money in there and this time was no exception.

When we got back to hers, her younger brother and sister were going Trick or Treating, so we went with them even though it was freezing. It was the first time I've really been introduced to any of her mums friends... And I was called her "girlfriend"... It may seem like a very small thing to some but it was huge for us and I felt so amazing!

1st November, Friday

On Friday we met Dan & Els at Bluewater. It was lovely to see them again and have Pizza Hut!

Mmm, cookie dough!

Then when they left to go home we hung around for a bit to shop. Which meant we were silly.

And Levi brought a build a bear called STRAWBERRY!

The clothes on the left were what we brought the ones one the right were given to her by Levi's little sister! So now she has PJs :)

2nd November, Saturday

We had originally planned to go to a fireworks display, but Levi's mums friend was having a birthday meal so we went there instead. Honestly I felt so awkward at the start but that didn't last. It was a really fun night, and it was our fourth meal out :)

London = Chinese buffet
Kent = around the world buffet
Bluewater = pizza hut buffet
Kent = Indian meal

Yes, we are fatties!

.....

The next few days were uneventful until it came to Tuesday...
5th November, Tuesday

I was supposed to go home this day but as there was a bad storm a few days before so a tree fell on the tracks so I couldn't get home which meant I couldn't get home and I was panicking as I has to film the next day. But Levi was happy, and I was too because it meant we could have a little longer together.

6th November, Wednesday

We booked a ticket for me to go back for Thursday, because even though there we could've arrange one back fir that day we wanted to go to our first fireworks display together. It had been ten years since I last went to a display with anyone, for personal reasons and it honestly overwhelmed me. I was so thankful that my girl was there :D

And then came thuday. Going home day :(

19th - 22nd Sept

Our eight months, spent together

Monday 19th, September:

I started travelling at 10:30am and didn't get there until 4:30pm, so the travelling gave me time to think of my girl and redo my make up. So on the first train I just relaxed and made sure my lips were not chapped and moisturised. I kept putting Chapstick on until I saw my girl to be honest as soft lips are much nicer to kiss. When we got back to the van we had some chips and snuggled on the sofa before she had to get ready for work. It felt so nice to snuggle her again and kiss her. Then the time had come to get her all made up for work and I redid my make up for like the third time that day.

After a good forty minutes of getting her ready and distracting her, we walked up to her work and I started talking to one of the guys on the bar who brought me drinks all night. Which was good. I mean free drinks all night, get in. Only problem is that when we got home and I mixed the JDs and coke I had been drinking all night with the cocktails I brought for me and my girl to celebrate with it made me tip over the edge and I went from tipsy drunk to drunkish! Which I paid for through out the night. However when I was ill it didn't feel like drunk sick but allergy sickness, but we will never know.

Tuesday 20th, September:

We woke up and I was still being ill, and almost ready to call off the day out with two of our friends D & E, but I pulled through. In the car on the way to the station, as well as on the first train I felt like I was going to puke.... But I didn't! Yay :)

When we got to Southend, baby wanted to go and get food but the smell was just turning my stomach so it was water for me then we met the girls by the front. Then it was bowling time, and my luckiness had worn off.... I used to always get at least one strike but no, I was the only one out of all of us who got a strike.

After two games, we decided to play pool. The girls needed to get some money so baby and I decided to hang around and play air hockey (she won) and then on to the dance mat; which is our thing because of Imagine Me and You being our favourite lgbt film. If you haven't watched it, then you should! After breaking the pool cue and taking forever to finish the game because let's just say I'm sh*t at pool we decided to take a walk back to D's car so she could top up the parking meter.

On the way back to the car, I spotted a photo booth which allowed for multiple poses. So now we have a four picture of us, I'm not super happy with it, but it's the first one like that we have so it will always be special.

Queens of funny faces

When she comes up here we will get another one done, and we will plan our poses before we go in!After topping up the car, we were all pretty hungry so headed to the three shells café.

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures so that's from google, but the food was so nice there and it was so relaxing looking over the sea! Hence it being called Southend-on-sea! Yes, we had a debate about this over dinner as we were having so many funny conversations with the girls. Honestly, I think we are going to be friends for a very long time and go on many more double dates :)

When they had to leave us, it was a long goodbye, hugs and promises we will meet again soon! Then it was the blue ice cream search, baby had seen a young boy with some, which meant she wanted some.... Eventually we found some.

Yum, a huge ice cream!

Then it was the cutest little sweet shop! We spend £10 between us, which reminds me that baby didn't give me the money back for her share. Oh well. It was then, and I don't need it now. Due to us spending so much time in the sweet shop, we missed our train back by 1 minute. Which meant we were going to miss the sunset, which later on the Wednesday night baby told me that she was going to propose in front of. Just thinking about that and writing it makes me smile, but I hope I get to propose to her first because I have it all planned out perfectly in my head.

Waiting for a lift back, sharing candyfloss!

Wednesday 21st, September:

This was our last day together. We lay on the sofa in between her working, then the one long break she had she decided that because we hadn't been on the walk to beach the night before we'd go today. We sat looking out over the river (?) for a while, and throwing stones into the water clogged sand which made lots of noise for a little stone - which amused us.

Then we got back and it was time for baby to go to work again for the night. Instead of sitting alone I sat with a cute family with a little baby. I've never been maternal, and baby saw me holding the baby, playing with her and then rocking her to stop her crying and it made me smile. After a few songs on karaoke the night was closed and the pizza I had ordered earlier was ready to be consumed.

Completely sober doing karaoke, how'da thunk'd it.

We went back to the van, in the pouring rain, heat up the pizza and then went to bed where I got emotional because it was my last night there. Which meant we were awake until stupid o'clock in the morning, and that took a toll on baby the next day as I think she had about 4/5 hours sleep.

Thursday 22nd, September:

Every moment we had left together was spent snuggling because we had no idea when we will see each other again, we still don't. That timer is just a guide, because I'm hoping we will see each other by then.
